Good Eats Twin Cities
The Twin Cities are home to some of the best restaurants. Many people go to the same ones over and over again. Here are some of my personal favorites that will give you some more options when going out with friends!
Stellas Fish Cafe:
Stellas is located in downtown Minneapolis. They have an amazing rooftop patio that is perfect for summer weather! It is a really good place to get fish whether it’s a sushi roll, lobster, or oysters offered in many ways! It is on the spendier side, but Monday through Friday they have happy hour deals on food and drinks . I would recommend the coconut shrimp, the shaggy roll, and the sushi grade tuna dip. And if you are splurging I would recommend the seafood platter!
Rincón 38:
Rincón 38 is located on Grand Ave in St. Paul. It specializes in tapas style dining. I don’t know about everyone else but sometimes it feels nearly impossible to decide on what you want to eat. The menu is exclusive for trying small plates and sharing an array of Spanish inspired meals. Some of my favorites include: Vieras (seared scallops), Patatas Bravas (baby potatoes), and Datiles (dates). I know dates can be intimidating but these ones are taken to a whole different level. You really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu!
Hi-Lo Diner:
Hi-Lo Diner is located in Minneapolis and it is a hard one to miss! It is shaped as a retro train car! They have amazing breakfast options and delicious ice cream cocktails (21+). I would recommend the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. Their biscuits are homemade and basically melt in your mouth. I have tried their straw-dairy marg and I could have had four! Who would’ve thought that ice cream and margaritas go hand in hand!
French Hen Cafe:
The French Hen Cafe is located on Selby in St. Paul. This is one of my favorite breakfast places to go and I even enjoyed it before I started working there! They have a ton of vegetarian options, along with savory, and sweet menu items! My personal favorites are the savory crepe, coconut lime french toast, and the parmesan crusted BLT. They have amazing coffee drinks that dairy free options as well! Breakfast isn’t overly expensive and it’s connected to a flower shop! It really is a great place to enjoy each other's company and have some good breakfast!
These are just a few amazing restaurant options to try out, as well as a way to support small and local businesses! Remember to be understanding and to tip your servers well!
